The fact is agri-adventures are the perfect fit for families because the fun is easy and effortless. The best festivals have one thing in common - plenty of things to do with kids. Texas Maze at Dewberry Farm (End of September to mid November). Perhaps one of the best agri-adventures in the country, Dewberry Farm shares its love of the season with an eight-acre interactive corn maze complete with “cornundrums” and a corn-cierge.  Add to that a creative series of family-friendly events including, goat walks, pig races, pumpkin picking, pumpkin carving, corn cannons, barrel train rides, hay rides, tire swings, and an awesome sunflower field. Visitors are encouraged to toast marshmallows, yodel a cowboy tune; listen to singing chickens; pan for semi-precious gems; cheer at the rubber duckie race; swing from 12-foot high bales of hay or try calf roping.  There is also the chance to go zip lining. For kids seven or younger there is Little Farmville a place to ride a trike around "Pedaler's Avenue", and rock on old-fashioned spring horses. Bonus Points: To enhance your agri-adventure take time to watch the farm’s honey bees at work and learn about honey making and why pollination is important to crops. Wait for it! On Saturday nights take a hayride through Pumpkin Hollow to see carved pumpkins glowing in the twilight. Graff Family Farm Corn M aize near Hondo (mid-September to December). Not far from San Antonio Graff Family Farm has created a seven-acre corn stalk labyrinth complete with miles of twists and turns. It is at the heart of an annual agri-adventure which also includes a pumpkin patch populated with wanna-be jack-o-lanterns and a “you-pick” flower meadow. Additional ways to share fun with the kids include hayrides, cow train barrel rides, hopping on the Corn Popper, sliding down a larger-than-life worm hole, navigating a giant spider web, and being entertained by the antics of resident Boer goats. Devine Acres Agri-Entertainment near San Antonio (September to end of October). From the annual Pumpkin Extravaganza to the four unique mazes and oodles of family-friendly activities this is a happy spot for kids of all ages.  The day’s activities can include scenic hayrides, catch-n-release fishing at the Old Watering Hole, barrel train rides, watching rubber duckie races, navigating hay bale & rope mazes, and scarecrow dressing. The petting zoo is home to several breeds of goats, pot-bellied pigs, llamas, chickens, and fluffy rabbits. Young visitors are encouraged to pan for gemstones; ride the trike track; play hillbilly golf; try pumpkin painting or romp through beanbag forest. Barton Hill Farms Fall Festival & Corn Maze near Bastrop (end of September to mid-November). This annual harvest celebration, held not far from Austin, features a five-acre interactive corn maze with more than three miles of pathways and a series of maze passports with questions and clues, plus a large pumpkin patch ready for picking and painting just for fun. Enjoy live country music along with traditional Texas heritage fall including frontier games in a replica of the ol’ Fort Wilbarger, sack races, and bobbing for apples. Bonus Points: Stay on after dusk for scary movie night and navigate the maze by starlight and flashlight to experience the eerie sounds of corn stalks in the dark. Wait for it!
