Here’s the scoop. It’s true nothing is absolutely free but many ski resorts offer unique savings for parents or grandparents who plan to ski with their young companions. From our own research and reader feedback we have assembled a list of ‘Kids Ski Free’ or almost free offers in Colorado. The ski deals Utah, California, US Northeast, and Western US appear on separate pages. The best bet is to checkout your favorite mountain location for the most current ski deals but if you are looking for something new our short list has several options for winter family fun at a savings.
Purgatory at Durango Mountain Resort Kids Ski Free Package. Purgatory Mountain at Durango Mountain Resort is recognized as a top family-friendly resort. Additional winter fun activities include snow tubing, dog sledding, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice climbing, snow biking, backcountry skiing, and snowmobiling. Aspen/Snowmass Kids Stay, Rent and Ski for Free in March. Snow Cub and his mom Big Burn Bear are very much a part of the Aspen/Snowmass experience for kids. The Treehouse Adventure Center in Snowmass Village has Colorado-themed play rooms and supervised activities for tykes ages eight weeks to four years old. The mountain ski complex offers interactive kids’ trails, children’s race arena and picnic areas and beginner terrain park and halfpipes for the littlest skiers and riders. Bonus Points: Aspen/Snowmass website has a series of print and play pages for kids to color before arriving at the Treehouse. Here’s the deal. This deal is valid during select days in March with a minimum 3-day purchase. Kids ages seven through 12 ski and stay for free with the purchase of a comparable adult three-day or longer lift ticket. Copper Mountain One, Two, Day Three Free. Not surprising, Copper Mountain offers a unique learning program for the youngest of snow bunnies. The class size is limited to no more than five students and includes plenty of snow play fun designed to teach the skills essential to safe skiing and snowboarding. Children ages six to 15 receive the benefit of individualized attention because lesson groups are limited to a maximum of seven students. Lessons include a lift ticket, lunch, and real-time GPS tracking provided by Flaik for superior safety and peace of mind. Here’s the deal. This deal features a third night free on lodging, a third day free on lessons, and kids aged 12 and younger ski for free. Steamboat Kids & Grandkids Rent Free & Ski Free. Enjoy all-day childcare as well as a one-hour private ski lesson. For youngsters (1st grade through 15 years) the Steamboat Signature Five program offers an alternative to the regular ski and snowboard kid's clinic. With a limit of 5 students per instructor the emphasis is on more personal attention. Here's the deal. This program enables children 12 years of age or younger to ski free the same number of days as their parents/grandparents when parents/grandparents purchase a 5-or-more day adult lift ticket. Seniors (ages 70+) must purchase an Adult ticket to be eligible for this program. Each qualifying purchase allows one free child per paid parent/grandparent. Kids also rent free when their parent or grandparent rents equipment for five or more days. Bonus Points: Steamboat Free Season Pass. Loveland Free Season Pass for Kids. Loveland's 3-Class Pass for Kids is for all children, ages four to 14, of all abilities. When guests pre-purchase or complete three full-day lesson packages, they can receive a free unrestricted season pass to keep practicing their skiing or snowboarding skills for the rest of the season. Children's full day lesson packages include the lesson, lift access, equipment rentals (ski or snowboard) and lunch. Telluride Kids' Discovery Week in February. This is a time for families with children to experience Telluride in a value-conscious way. From January 31 - February 7, 2015, kids five - 14 ski for free, stay for free, and receive free lessons. Based on two adults and two children ages five - 14 in a junior suite at the Inn at Lost Creek, this package is a savings of $100 per person, per night but is based on availability and has some restrictions.
